Accepting Jesus Christ

Last week, we talked about ways to develop a personal and authentic relationship with God; Praying, reading the Bible, praise, and worship, but what we didn't talk about is

How does this relationship with God begin?

Jesus said in John 14:6

I am the way, the truth, and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me.

&

Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

Developing a personal relationship with God all begins through Jesus Christ becasue of what was done on the cross. When there is confession and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and belief that God raised him on the third day with all power in hands, our sins, transgressions, iniquities, wickedness were washed clean. Not only that, but we also have the right to be healed, freed, redeemed, delivered, and whole.

Through Jesus, we have access to God, to proclaim who God is; the creator of the heavens and the earth. The one and true living God. The God of all gods, the King of all kings, the Lord of all lords. The alpha and omega, the beginning and the end.

Through Jesus Christ, we can come to God in humility to receive all God has for us. His love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, meekness, faithfulness, temperance, righteousness, and much more.

That's the beauty of God. He loved us that much to give His last. For we are unworthy, but because of what Jesus Christ has done on the cross by his blood, obedience, and sacrifice, we now can come to God worthy, and not becasue of anything we have done, but by Jesus Christ.

Just as John 3:16 says,

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

If you would want to develop a relationship with God, and receive the perfect gift, which is Jesus Christ, say this with your heart and lips out loud,

Dear Lord Jesus,

Come into my heart. Forgive me of my sins. Wash me and cleanse me with your blood. Set me free. I deny myself of all I am, and I choose to pick up my cross and follow you. Heavenly Father, I believed that you loved me so much, you sent your only begotten son to die for me, and you rose him on the third day. I confess to you, Jesus; you are my Lord and Savior. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and be the example of you, God. Today I am saved; I am forgiven, washed clean, and thank you, God, for loving me.

In Jesus name

If you said that prayer by faith, if you said that prayer with confession and believing, you are on your way to heaven. But it doesn't stop there; it's time to start living for God, to seek His face, diving into His word, and having a hungry and thrist after righteousness.

God is ready to use you in a mighty way. If you don't have a church home, ask God to guide you to one and bring the right people into your life that will be that encouragement you need.

Just like any relationship, it takes time to build and trust, take those intimate moments with God and allow Him to build you up into His glory.
